Stunning Roman Catholic Cathedral. It is in the Renaissance architectural tradition, finished in the 18th and conceived by Diego de Siloé over a century prior. An obligated visit

A much more beautiful, interesting and moving house-museum than the OTHER house-museum, if you know what I mean. A nice hour visit with very low entry price

Not the best beach in the province of Málaga by any means, but a very good one considering its proximity to the historic centre. Its location is ideal to either begin or end a day of sightseeing. From September on, it's not really necessary to bring a parasol. Most light-skinned blonde people are seen on this beach without one all year long, anyway. The beach also features a walkway with a bike lane and many restaurants where you can enjoy pescaito frito and all kinds of barbecued seafood and nice drinks.

Gastronomía

It's not often you'll find a nice resturant with reasonable prices next to the historic centre of a city. This is a rare find! Recommended plate: paella

Cheap, nice, greasy burgers with a cheap and nice beer selection. Ideal for a quick meal right on the city docks with views to the Cathedral and old mosques.

Barrios

Narrow streets with lots of history in every corner. Not many tourist traps, but be wary of your belongings! Visit the main sites, but make sure you let yourself get lost, it's a beautiful city to lose track of where you are and go with the flow

Comfortable shoes, a hat, a bottle and sunscreen

You'll be doing lots of walking through the centre, so it's best you wear your most comfortable pair of shoes. Even if it's not hot, the sun in the south is unforgiving. It's recommended you bring a hat and reliable sunscreen. Lastly, you'll want to drink lots of water, but buying it at tourist sites will get pricey fast. There are multiple public drinking fountains all over the place where you can refill your own trusty bottle (more enviromentally friendly aswell, if you're into that). Once you got your comfort, health and hydration sorted, you'll be able to really enjoy this beautiful city.
