Calton Hill is a fifteen minute walk from the apartment. It's quite a steep climb up from Waterloo Place but is well worth the effort for the fabulous views over the city and its interesting collection of historic buildings.

Arthur's seat is the mountain in the middle of the city and easily accessible from my apartment. This is the view form my kitchen window. The view from the top is stunning. There are several ways to reach the top, some easier than others. It depends how fit you are! Be sure to wear suitable walking shoes or boots and take plenty of water on hot days.

Edinburgh is a very busy city with many tourists all the year round. It's a good idea to book where possible. Most of the attractions that I have listed are bookable in advance.

All day savers.

The cheapest way to travel by bus is to buy an all day saver from the driver. This gives you unlimited travel for the entire day. However, if you are reasonably fit you can easily walk from the apartment to all the Tourist Attractions I have listed.
