Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg offers some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the Northwest. In the warmer months, families can enjoy golfing, mountain biking, and gondola rides on the longest single stage gondola in the country. Silver Mountain Resort is also home to Silver Rapids, Idaho’s largest indoor water park.

If you’ve explored old mines on your own before this will be underwhelming, but it’s a good spot if you’re a tourist.
Panning for gold is fun and there are tons of good-sized pieces in the tubs; no pickers though. The demonstration of how to pan is quick, and those who didn’t already know how to pan really couldn’t find anything.

Founded in 1884, the town is named for William R. Wallace, a local farmer. Silver mining would soon replace agriculture, and the community that emerged around Wallace's small cabin would soon develop into a regional center for the Silver Valley mining industry.
