2 restaurants and 1 bar, all the same owner, next to each other directly on the beach in Fisherman's Village. This is a MUST for a visit to Koh Samui. Coco Tam's is the bar with a very extensive cocktail list and 2 fire shows every night, enjoyed sitting in large beanbags on the sand. Summer Bistro has a lot of tasty vegan and vegetarian options, among other foods. The Grill does pizza, pasta, grilled meats, etc. All 3 places are beautifully decorated and play great music. Highly recommend.

This spot is right on the beach, about a 10 minute walk from our property. Open from about 8am to late. Very popular with Samui residents, it serves excellent quality Western and Thai food. Great choice for families with small children, as there are a lot of play areas for them, including a trampoline in the water when the weather permits. I recommend the very large chicken schnitzel, Myanmar tea leaf salad, mango chicken or tofu wrap, and mojito happy hour.

Not the cheapest place to dine, but you pay for the amazing ambience. Panoramic sea views from high in the mountain. Dine at regular tables and chairs under cover, or in the comfy beanbags on the cliffside deck. TIP: Get there before sunset to enjoy the colors. TRY: Miang kham (เมี่ยงคำ), a traditional Thai appetizer that you assemble yourself in betel leaves or lotus petals. Ingredients are typically shallots, fresh chili peppers, fresh ginger, fresh Garlic, lime, toasted coconut, peanuts or cashew nuts, mall dried shrimps. Make it your own!

A good choice for vegans and eco-conscious ones, this restaurant owned and managed by a local Samui family, is a farm as well. Most of the food you eat there is grown right on the property. It is all outdoors, but has canopies, so even in a light rain it is ok. While waiting for your food, definitely take a stroll through the gardens and lotus ponds to see where your food is coming from! TIP: Best enjoyed for lunch. If more than 4 of you, call ahead to book a table. They speak enough English to understand. An all-day restaurant very popular with foreign residents, this place has some of the best burgers and sandwiches on the island. Also a very extensive vegan menu. They make their own bread of many varieties there as well, if you fancy some to take home.

Breakfast

In Fisherman's Village, this place has some of the best coffee on the island, and great breakfast pastries. My personal favourite is their coconut affogato: Piping hot espresso poured over a hill of frozen coconut milk and toasted coconut. Very island-y.

Right on the beach, this is a good breakfast/coffee option. It's always very chill, you can work there for a couple of hours if needed. Owned and managed by an Indian couple, it has good vegan and curry dishes, among others. This is a wonderful beach for sunset.

Sightseeing

If you have your own wheels, I recommend driving up in the mountain to see this cool house that looks like giant stone fruits. Just down the road is Namtok Tar Nim & Magic Garden as well. The drive alone is very beautiful, with a few lookout points to pull over into and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. If going by scooter, you will need at least 125cc as some of the roads are steep.
