White Dot Trail (from Park Headquarters & 15 minutes from the house): This is the shortest (1.9 mi, 3-4 hours roundtrip), most direct route to the summit. The trail is steep and rugged, particularly in its middle section and final approaches to the summit. It is by far the most used trail on the mountain and reservations are usually required.
White Cross Trail (from Park Headquarters & 15 minutes from the house): (2.1 mi, 3-4 hours roundtrip) From Headquarters, the White Cross Trail is mostly less steep than the slightly shorter White Dot Trail.
Pumpelly Trail (Pumpelly Trail, Dublin, NH, just roadside parking & 5 minutes from the house): (4.4 mi, 7 hours roundtrip) First opened in 1884 and the longest trail to Monadnock's summit, the present day path starts on private property, and goes over rolling terrain for the first 1.8 miles, and then climbs steeply up to the first viewpoint at the halfway point. For the last mile to the summit the Pumpelly Trail goes over a mostly exposed ridge with wide open views along the way.

Swimming
Looking for a place to swim, paddle, or float around on a hot day? This is one of the clearest bodies of water in New Hampshire. You will have a beautiful view of Mt. Monadnock from the north side of the lake along route 101, especially around sunset and there are few small pull offs to park your car to take a swim or watch the sunset. There is also a small launch ramp with limited parking located on Lake Road, just off from route 101 and can be reached from East Lake Road which is a good spot to put in a kayak or something similar.

Dublin Lake Scenic Area
