Sightseeing

The majesty of the massive Waenhuiskrans Cave, originally called “Holkrantz” gave reason for the town's original name of Waenhuiskrans literally translating in to “wagon house cliff”. The name of the cave comes from the legend that the Cave is big enough to turn an ox wagon with a full span of oxen around inside. Tips before going to the cave. It must be low tide so make sure you check the tides as you have to climb through a cave hole to get to the inside which if its high tide cannot be reached. Also you need a 4x4 vehicle to drive to the cave however we have walked here numerous times you can even do it along the coast line if the tide is low enough and you will be amazed how clear the water. You can see right to the bottom of the ocean and the sea life is spectacular.

Going to the harbor and looking at the huge sting rays!

When you go to the harbour walk straight to the jetty where the boats come in and out for fishing there are normally 3 sting rays that swim there and have become use to people so you can almost go close enough to touch, but I wouldn't as they are still wild animals but its an amazing sight to see.

The Atlantic and Indian ocean meets at this point!

There is a gravel road next to the light house that you can follow that will lead you to the place where the Atlantic and Indian ocean meets. This is also the most southern point in South-Africa definitely a must see!

Children will love the rock pools and ocean pool!

When you walk across the road from the house just carry on walking straight to the ocean with your children here you will find rock pools that have so much sea life, little fish, shells with animals inside and this will keep children busy for hours or everyone can cool off in the ocean made pool.

Airport transportation

There is transportation that can be arranged to and from the airport by me, your host just ensure you request this in advance as high season tends to keep this service very busy and then booking is a must!
