Vernon is amazing for its outdoor appeal, with great hiking trails along the Appalachian, Heaven Hill Farm in the fall, or Mountain Creek Resort activities (ski, snow tube, bike park, water park, zip lining, ropes course), horseback riding, and it's close to Warwick, NY and its wineries, antique shops, billiards, cute local shops and restaurants.

Stairway To Heaven Trail
If you love hiking, this is the trail for you!!
Very fun, even for my 'older' kids (11 and 12)!! Definitely recommend, be prepared to walk a lot.
