Great Food
A short list of great places to eat
Hands down my favorite place to eat. Genuine Turkish food. I typically get takeout from here once a week. The take out is great, but dinning in is even better! Ask me for personal menu recommendations!
Also - it's a fairly large restaurant that is not often packed, so reservations are never needed even for large parties and it's good for families with small children, as you can be seated farther from other diners if desired.
Pita House

Exceptionally experimental Asian fusion tacos and other uniquely delicious Mexican inspired food here.
This place packs an up beat party vibe. I recommend going before happy hour if with family / children / desire a quieter place and at happy hour or evening if your looking for sme excitment!

Traditional upscale Mexican. The food here is delicious and I recommend dining in here vs take out, just do to the nature of the type of foods and beautiful plate presentation. Make sure to order the octopus special if it's available!

Walk-able from Home. This is a good restaurant with a traditional American menu. I typically only eat here if I want to walk to a restaurant. Is a small restaurant, so I would recommend calling ahead to ensure space.

Pizza & Italian Spot. This is a longer walk from our home, I would recommend driving there and picking up Pizza or dining in. Parking can be challenging at times. You could walk here if you wanted to take a longer walk for lunch time. Food is very good.

The Best Italian Deli. Almost all the restaurants and stores on main street are fairly new, this place has been here for over 50 years and is really, really, really good. The prices are well on the higher side, but the quality of everything is excellent and delicious.

Sea Food: This is a very small oyster bar and seafood restaurant. The food here is really fresh and really good! If you are into sea food this is by far the best sea food option around.

Coffee & Wifi
Places to sit peaceful, sip a coffee, and catch some wifi.
Wifi, coffee, and a wonderfully warm atmosphere. This is a great place to read a book, work on your laptop, or write a screenplay. They offer light bites and tasty desserts, but my goto here is a cappuccino. Early mornings are typically quite, it can fill up later in the day, but there is usually a place to sit.

They offer light bites and tasty desserts, but my goto here is a cappuccino. Early mornings are typically quite, it can fill up later in the day, but there is usually a place to sit.
Parks & Recreation
Walk-able from Home: Great park to take kids, go for a walk, or stair out into the sea. There is a playground for bigger kids and one for toddlers, a pier for fishing and crabbing, basketball courts, baseball fields, and grass to run around! Walkable from our home!

Shorefront Park

Here you can go finishing, crabbing, or just take a nice walk.

A sandy bay beach. 5-minute car ride from our home. There is a beach bar and an outdoor lunch spot "Flos" nearby. Parking can fill up, so best to go earlier, there is also a paid parking lot.

Aquarium. 40-minute drive from our home. This is a great small aquarium (2-hours and you can see everything). There is ample parking and great restaurants near by. My favorite is Turkuaz Grill which is a short walk from the aquarium exit, this is the closest and the best restaurant.

Aquarium. 40-minute drive from our home. This is a great small aquarium (2-hours and you can see everything). There is ample parking and great restaurants near by. My favorite is Turkuaz Grill which is a short walk from the aquarium exit, this is the closest and the best restaurant.

Walk-able from Home: Davis Park Ocean Beach. The ferry terminal is walkable from our home, just walk south. This is about a 20 minute ferry ride to a great Ocean Beach. At Davis Park there is ample sandy beaches, the main area has a life guard. There is an ice cream shop, local grocery store with deli, and an ocean front bar / restaurant. Check the Davis Park ferry term

If you get here before 10am it will be quiet, after 10am it will be busy, but still a really great play ground and sea side park. About a 15 minute drive on a local road.

Breakfast Spots
Great local breakfast spot. The line gets out the door, so I recommend being there earlier in the morning. On the weekend most breakfast places have a line by 10AM.

Towns to Visit
Sayville Main Street has a lot to offer. It is a 15 minute car ride and has lots of small shop, restaurants, coffee shops, and things to do for both families, couples, and groups. This main street is much lower key / quieter than Patchogue's main street.

Bellport Village is a very small and quiet town. There are a few really great restaurants for lunch or dinner, coffee shops, and small shops.
