Only 10 minutes away, ramble through the historic township of Carcoar, where Ben Hall and his gang held up the Commercial Bank in July 1863. A brave teller in the bank fired a shot into the ceiling of the bank, thwarting the robbery. The manager was shot outside the bank as he was returning to the bank, and the gang fled without seizing anything. This was Australia's first bank robbery, and it took place in broad daylight.
