One of the most spectacular view of the upper Casentino valley and the forests of the National Park. In very nearby, the Romanesque Pieve di Romena also deserves a visit.

Hiking

Hiking tracks in the countryside, National and Regional parks
From it’s 1592 mt. above the see level, on a clear day your sights will embrace the whole Tuscany region, and further far! The mountain top can be reached in approximately 1h15’ drive, both from the Casentino side, and the Valdarno. Be prepared for a very curvy road, with incredible views on the lower valleys! A marvelous scenic track on the ridge will provide you with breathtaking views! Free range cattle and horses are often feeding on the surroundings meadows.

On the way up to Mt Pratomagno, the tiny hamlet of Quota is nestled into the surrounding chestnut forest. Stop here for a snack at the local grocery, and have a walk through the narrow streets of the ancient village. You will be amazed from spectacular, timeless views.

Spiritual

Either if you’re a believer or not, there are places with a different energy
This is the place where S. Francis has received the stigmata, in a cave still accessible from the monastery build around this holy spot.

Τρόποι μεταφοράς

Private transport is surely the best for the Casentino

Although there is a train linking Arezzo with the major hill town of the Casentino Valley, we believe that the most spectacular destinations of this territory are better accessible by private transport.
