Sightseeing
The beautiful restored Perot Theatre, located in downtown Texarkana at 3rd and Main St, has been a landmark since 1924 when it opened as the Saenger Amusement Company's "Gateway to the Southwest" theatre.
Fully restored by the City of Texarkana, TX in 1979-80, the building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Texarkana natives, H. Ross Perot and his sister Bette, through the Perot Foundation, contributed much of the restoration costs in memory of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel Ross Perot.

If you want a great brunch Verona is the place to go. They have a lovely wine bar and dinners are excellent as well.

If you are heading north through Arkansas be sure to stop at my friend Derrek's place "The Ouachitas" in Mena Arkansas. Great brew pub and coffee bar. They have the best pizza. This is about a 2 hour drive on Hwy 71 going north.

This town, about an hour south of Texarkana, is a pre-civil war town with scenic streets, charming restaurants, quaint bed & breakfasts, historic hotels, RVs and picturesque landscapes. There are events, walking tours, and train and boat rides. There's even a Ghost tour in the evening!
