Areas To Visit

The Old Town is a lovely place to just wander. Filled with boutique shops, quirky bars, art galleries and a wide range of restaurants and pubs, it has beautiful meandering streets and hidden 'twittens' (aka narrow passageways). There are lots of impressive examples of well-preserved medieval, Tudor and Renaissance buildings and some stunning Norman churches to admire. Foyles War was filmed here too.

One of our favourite pubs in Hastings, it's famous for its delicious and hearty homemade pies. It has a relaxed atmosphere, lovely staff and an open fire in colder months. Best to book ahead online as they can get busy.

'Cool and eclectic', 'comfy', and 'Funky as hell (with) some bizarre but very interesting and good live music, very friendly staff and locals all having a good time' are some of their TripAdvisor reviews. We love it. You never know who you'll meet and it has a vibe all it's own.
