Bring a jacket. Seriously!
The locals know that the breeze off Lake Michigan can turn on a dime, and the air temperature can unexpectedly drop 20 degrees in less than 5 minutes. And the locals know that the temperature is much cooler the closer you are to the lake. So, the locals always have a jacket or sweatshirt with them when they leave their house, regardless of whether it is 90 degrees and the forecast looks amazing.
