You can't miss Maui Jack's Waterpark! Literally... Second to the lighthouse, it's the biggest structure on the Island. With a giant whirlpool and towering slides, this is a great place to bring the family.

The southernmost tip of Chincoteague island is where the Waterman's Memorial is located. This is a beautiful high spot on the island and an important site to visit.

This trail brings you through Chincoteague's diverse ecosystems. It is open to walk, bike, and (at times) by car. I highly recommend swinging by the National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center for in-depth explanations and exhibits.

The Assateague Lighthouse is a 0.4 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Chincoteague, Virginia that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. You can climb all the way up the lighthouse and learn about its history.

Watch out for the Pony Express!
The Pony Express is a seasonal trolley service provided by the Town of Chincoteague, Virginia. This service is open to the public and follows fixed routes covering most of the island including many of the motels, restaurants, shops, parks, recreational areas, ice cream parlors, and campgrounds. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) public transportation option is available and all trolleys are equipped with wheelchair lifts.

Bikes are a great way to get around the island
Bikes are available for rent at Bike Depot and Jus' Bikes on Maddox. While most roads are not especially biker-friendly, there are several bike paths on the island:

Swan Cove Trail.
Black Duck Trail.

Woodland Trail.
Pony Overlook.
Access trail between Chincoteague and Assateague.
