Sightseeing
Kendal Castle is a nice spot within walking distance. The castle was built in the early 1200's on a hill that overlooks the town. This is a great place to walk and watch the sunset! Also where we take our dog for a stroll.

City/town information
If you're coming to Kendal to visit some of the Lakes but don't have a car to travel, Windermere is a short train ride from Kendal Station.
Windermere is a lovely little town on the edge of Windermere Lake. You can book boat trips to cruise along the lake. Be sure to check out the local shops as well as some of the beautiful walks.

It's a long walk to tackle the entire lake but you could start at the Aira Force Waterfall and walk your way to The Inn on the Lake in Glenridding for lunch at this beautiful hotel!
