Food scene
Great place to eat and enjoy music. They typically have a band on Friday or Saturday night. The owners are Shannon and Jordan and they take good care of their staff - I love the people that work there and think you will too ! My favorite meal is popcorn shrimp as appetizer and fried scallops basket as meal.

If you want a romantic diner with amazing food - this is the best higher-end food in town. On the main street (Washington Ave & Wilder) in Colonial Beach. Ask what is their special of the night - if they have their flounder get it :) or they might have soft shell crab or noodle dish - it is all amazing food. You can sit inside or outside and people watch as they stroll by. Across the street from Nancy's Ice Cream shop which is a good place to get soft serve ice cream - my son loves the banana split.

Ask what is their special of the night - if they have their flounder get it :) or they might have soft shell crab or noodle dish - it is all amazing food. When we go there we pass the main dining and go to the back right corner room (with window view of Potomac river) or to the patio if it is not too hot. Riverboat and four season restaurant are have the most open hours in town - so if it is not a weekend summer day (like a Tuesday in February) the riverboat and four season are typically the two restaurants open when others are not and good to know. Check restaurants Facebook pages for open hours as most are good about posting them there.

Sightseeing
If you like history - the property you are on is part of James Monroe (our 5th president) original birthplace farm. If you turn right onto James Monroe Highway (Route 205) where our mailbox is the next entrance on the left is the James Monroe Foundations visitor center, birthplace farmhouse replica and walking paths on 70 acres of land. You can walk there is you want about half mile along road. The paths are open all year around but the visitor center and farmhouse is only open Saturday and Sunday noon - 4pm in summertime - so if you are there then defiantly worth visit.
