Einbunpin Lagoon is always a nice spot to chill and watch the birds… or turtles sunbaking!
Try Baaia (waterfront) or Capulet (Brighton Rd) for Coffee options here or Doug’s Seafood is my pick for fish and chips.

Downtown Sandgate is where you’ll find a bigger offering of cafes and shops. There’s fresh food markets held near the roundabout on Wednesdays and Saturday’s.
Einbunpin Lagoon is always a nice spot to chill and watch the birds… or turtles sunbaking!
Try Baaia (waterfront) or Capulet (Brighton Rd) for Coffee options here or Doug’s Seafood is my pick for fish and chips.
The pier is the most prominent landmark in this entire area. It’s also worth walking around the other side to the mouth of Cabbage Tree Creek.
Moora Park (or Pirate Park as it’s affectionately known to the locals) is adjacent to the pier. The lower section has an amazing playground for children. The beach here is also a nice safe haven for swimming with kiddies. You’ll find a coffee cart here too.
My pick is Wired Owl for coffee… and next door is Witchin’ Kitchen’ which serves up amazing breakfast fare. Be sure to book on the weekend as it gets busy.
Matthew Thomas is on the cliff side and is another great brekky option. Booking is recommended on weekends.

Public Transport
There is a bus stop within a short walk in either direction along Beaconsfield Tce. You can travel to the city or just around town. Sandgate Train Station is approx 5 min drive. The bus can take you here too.

The airport is only a 20 min drive from Brighton. If you haven’t got your own vehicle, an Uber or Taxi will be around the $50 mark.
