Langport is 5 miles away and is on the River Parrett. This is where you can swim in the river or canoe or paddle board. Also some lovely walks along the river. Langport also has a small Tesco supermarket and some interesting shops.

You can relax with a coffee and cake and watch the world go by in The Buttercross Tearooms or The Courtyard Cafe at the rear of The Gifted Company Gift shop. Somerton also has a very good Co-op small supermarket and two shops selling local produce, Cobbs Health food shop and Natures Pantry both well worth a visit! On Saturday a pizza van with a wood fired oven seven lovely pizzas to take away - the van is parked in the main car park in Somerton.
