We are very well placed for you to visit this beautiful Greek Harbour town with its coves, beaches, boats by car, taxi or local bus (in high season).
The picturesque harbour is probably the finest in Corfu.
The ruined castle is in good if not handsome condition, and has spectacular views of the Ionian and towards Albania.

Kassiopi
We are very well placed for you to visit this beautiful Greek Harbour town with its coves, beaches, boats by car, taxi or local bus (in high season).

Cycling to Arillas beach - also available by foot, public transport, car or motorbike - with its eateries, outside bars (some with swimming pools) is the quickest and most convenient way to access the vibe of this popular resort for all!

There is a lock up for bikes at the north end of the beach, with a wonderful walk to the old Italian fort and lookout point from here if you are feeling energetic! Plus, a great way to enjoy sunrise or sunset after your efforts is to visit one of the bars near the summit. (Reservation advised).
Nudism is tolerated on some secret coves, accessible if you are prepared to take a short paddle.

Cycling to Arillas beach - also available by foot, public transport, car or motorbike - with its eateries, outside bars (some with swimming pools) is the quickest and most convenient way to access the vibe of this popular resort for all!
Originally a traditional fishing village, the sandy beach and views out to sea are probably the best in the area.
There is a lock up for bikes at the north end of the beach, with a wonderful walk to the old Italian fort and lookout point from here if you are feeling energetic! Plus, a great way to enjoy sunrise or sunset after your efforts is to visit one of the bars near the summit. (Reservation advised).

Less than 4 kms by road from Richard's Place along a shady, winding mountain road; Buddha Hall is 10 - 15 minutes distant by bike or car and about 20 minutes on foot via the lesser known Corfiot tracks for those welcoming a strenuous stroll!

Corfu Buddha Hall
Less than 4 kms by road from Richard's Place along a shady, winding mountain road; Buddha Hall is 10 - 15 minutes distant by bike or car and about 20 minutes on foot via the lesser known Corfiot tracks for those welcoming a strenuous stroll!

The 'Mandir' is a 40 minute walk (strenuous) from Richard's Place and under 10 minutes' cycle or drive away. Driving is not recommended, however, as parking near the Mandir is hard to find and private cars cannot access the Gayatri Mandir site without permission.
The outside dance floor is used for early evening ecstatic dance and similar dance events, which we recommend. There is a great view over the sea at sunset.

The 'Mandir' is a 40 minute walk (strenuous) from Richard's Place and under 10 minutes' cycle or drive away. Driving is not recommended, however, as parking near the Mandir is hard to find and private cars cannot access the Gayatri Mandir site without permission.

This is the 'staple' for places and services your might want to visit nearby!
The administrative capital of the Ionian islands, where you can find pretty much all you might need, Corfu Town is a 45 minute drive away and only around 1.5 hours (there) and 2.5 hours return by bike.
Ancient sites, great restaurants, nightlife, services and shops. This is likely to be the place you arrive n Corfu and is a compact but alluring location.

The administrative capital of the Ionian islands, where you can find pretty much all you might need, Corfu Town is a 45 minute drive away and only around 1.5 hours (there) and 2.5 hours return by bike.
Ancient sites, great restaurants, nightlife, services and shops. This is likely to be the place you arrive n Corfu and is a compact but alluring location.

Afionas, Kerkyra
Walk / cycle the narrow lanes of Afionas and enjoy the sunset. You can enjoy a drink or ice-cream, coffee or sit on the public benches.
This is the easiest of places to access from Richard's place, with a route that only has a steep climb at the very end and is not too busy. So it is accessible even in the hottest months and has great views.

Just 4kms away from Richard's Place, this resort town is an ideal place for the hiring of motor transport and, if you want to do your own washing, has a laundrette.

There are closer places to Richard's Place if you want independent bicycle or motorised travel, but if it is a full range of cycling options with expertise, excellent service, longer bicycle tours you want, S-bikes can't be more highly recommended.

Kavvadades to Arillas via Afionas
In this 1 - 2 hour bicycle tour, Richard will show you the nearest local amenities (nearby supermarket, cafe, fruit shop), before heading to one of the best views around in Afionas. You can return later or on following days to watch the sunset.
You will then cycle past Giatry Mandir - Richard will point it out if you are attending an event there - before finishing the tour on the sea-front of Arillas, at its south end.
The climb to the Afionas view by bike is strenuous.

Kavvadades to Buddha Hall and Agios Stefanos
Under 4 km from Richard's Place Buddha Hall is notoriously difficult to find on first visit, so this bicycle tour is especially recommended if you are attending the hall for an event and don't know the way.
We cycle through Kavvadades square, along a beautiful, shaded, winding mountain road through the olive groves to Buddha Hall.
From there, through the outskirts of Arillas to the sleepy resort Agios Stefanos where the tour ends.
If you wish to take a boat trip to Erikoussa during your stay, Richard will show you where you the boat leaves.
The climbs on this tour are moderate.

Kavvadades to Arillas Tour
Join Richard on this bicycle tour of the highly popular and nearest local resort, Arillas.
RIchard will guide you on the fastest route to (also from) central Arillas by bike, pointing out the steep short cut if you plan to walk to or (if fit!) from Arillas on future days of your visit.
Then it is an opportunity to have the hidden gems and popular spots on Arillas beach front pointed out.
We complete the Arillas Circle if there is time so you are fully advised and orientated when spending time in Arillas.
After a gentle climb at the start this tour is downhill / easy.

Kavvadades to Akrotiri
Akrotiri bar and restaurant is one of the best places in north-west Corfu to visit and watch the sunset, with almost 360 degree visibility. It is also spectacular in the morning.
As with the Agios Stefanos tour, the route goes through olive groves and past Buddha Hall, the way to the Hall can be pointed out on the way but there won't be time to stop there.
The climb to the Akrotiri and its view by bike is strenuous.

Even in the cooler months early afternoon is hot and sunny
We recommend bringing a hat, suncream & aftersun.
Also insect repellent is recommended in the hotter months.
Apart from the hat, which you can buy in Arillas, Richard carries these things at his place and can also supply them if you are unable to bring liquids with you on your journey.
Covering up, putting socks on just before the sun sets and wearing light clothes also helps keep mosquitoes away.
Beach shoes, a pair of trainers / walking boots for cycling / walking recommended.
You are unlikely to need it, but when it does rain on Corfu, IT RAINS HARD! Carrying a small umbrella advised.
