This is the beach next to us as our yard backs on to China Beach Provincial Park. There are two access points to the park. First is through the camp sites. Parking in the round-a-bout or across the highway is OK, and then a beach trail that is about 15 minutes through some amazing forest. The trail is well maintained, easy and enjoyable. The beach is sandy and great for summer swimming. You can also access the beach by walking down our local beach trail and walking to the North along the beach to reach China Beach. The other access is down the highway another 5 minutes, has easy parking and also a long beautiful hike. The beach at this zone is rocky, but still amazing. Shore break here is fun to swim in. Lots of 1st growth trees in this walk.

China Beach (Canada)

This is one of the more popular surf spots and a very nice beach hang out with lots of logs to post up on. The hike is about 10 minutes, and the drive is about 20 minutes north. Very easy, well maintained accessible trail. Go left at the fork to hit the main zone with more room to stretch your legs.

Botanical beach is the ultimate for tide pool lovers, be sure to go during low tide and walk around the rocks to the South. The hike is about 20 minutes and very easy. The hike back feels a little longer with the wide uphill stretch near the end but still easy hiking. You’ll earn the pint at the Port Renfrew pub after. The french fries here are worth the stop!

Some great little hidden spots that are super easy to access if you’d prefer to not walk our beach trail and just want to be on the beach for sunset / fire.
This is one of our favourite places. Tip - walk to the south. You will come across some beautiful caves and a rock formation / waterfall that you can walk up to and on top of. The beach also gets sandier for swimming on the far south side.

This beach is big, beautiful and windy. There is a large parking lot and the walkway to the beach is paved. There is also a kids play park on the left side just before the beach.
