Exciting shore break and great stretch of beach for a lovely walk. Head left towards Salt Rock Hotel and Tidal Pool. Pop in for a G&T or one of their famous curries. Keep going and you'll arrive at Tiffany Beach. Easier to swim (no lifeguards) and bodyboard.
Turn right instead and head to Chakas cove with its protected tidal pool, full of parrot fish. Hop up the road to Salt Cafe for a delish coffee and pastry to enjoy back down by the sea.
Local tip - if you're here for a Friday, the locals head to the beach with a pizza from salt cafe and a cooler box for sundowners. It's a vibe.

Out & About
With 2km of promenade to explore this is a great morning or afternoon activity. You could spend all day climbing the rocks between the different bays, watching the surfers and having a dip before ending in old Ballito for a bite to eat. Ocean Basket has amazing views, as does Hops pub who have live music on weekends. Concha coffee is a satisfying reward for all that exercise and if you time it right the tidal pools at Clarke bay are delightful to explore.
