Beautiful Northwest setting, a huge log cabin up on a wooded hillside overlooking the river. Excellent sommelier and wine list. The atmosphere is dim and cozy but it can be loud inside. Definitely ask for a table on the deck if the weather is good. The view is beautiful!

This restaurant is in a strip mall but has outdoor seating and live music in season and has surprisingly better food than it might seem at first sight. Inside the restaurant you would never know you are in a strip mall; it has dim lighting, draperies and very attentive service in our experience.

They support artists of all types in their elaborate décor sparing no expense and landscape with unique plants. They brew their own beers and make their own wines. The food is standard pub fare. The Oregon City pub is an old church. It is small and cozy and has comfortable booths around the perimeter and a big bar that fills the center. There is a deck with outdoor seating. This pub is a modest example of that the brothers do. If yo’ure interested in this concept and would like to visit one of their premier properties we recommend their Edgefield location (40 min away towards the Columbia River Gorge) for a visit.

Rent a surf or boodgie board from Bahama Mama’s in Manzanita or Cleanline Surf in Cannon Beach and head to Short Sands Beach. This is a very popular surf spot so beware the summer and weekend crowds. Note: it is a .5 mile kike from the parking lot to the beach. Worth the walk even if you aren’t surfing.
