Gardnerville is a farm town established in 1879 at a more conveniently central location than Genoa. It has become the pleasant setting for a collection of cafes and shops appealing to travelers as well as local folks. Only a few years ago its picturesque Basque restaurants, such as J T Basque Bar & Dining Room and Overland Restaurant and Pub, provided Gardnerville with such fame as it enjoyed beyond the confines of the Carson Valley.

The V&T Railway hosts festive rides on Mother's Day and Memorial Day. They even conduct a trip to the North Pole during Christmas!

After golfing, consider eating at the on-site Mallard's Restaurant. Happy hour is from 2:00pm - 3:00pm!
