There are several well-maintained trails to hike and a beautiful miles long sandy beach on the Lake Michigan side. This can be a great birding location in early spring and fall. It is also dog friendly if you're looking for a place to run your pup.

If you're looking for an adventure and aren't afraid of heights this is a must do! You can climb to the top of the Iron Mountain ski jump and have an amazing view of the surrounding area. Not for the faint at heart but well worth it!

Great day trip! Locally known as PP, this is a great place to watch birds, enjoy monarchs during their migration, take a short hike, or have a picnic. PP is located at the tip of Stonington Peninsula. It's about a 45 minute drive from Escanaba. When you're in the upstairs of the house looking across the lake you are looking at PP.
