If you are coming in on Saturday during the summer season, allow extra time. Saturdays are known as "check out/check in" days and traffic can be very heavy.

The Sunset Beach Waterfront Park is a short 10-15 walk from our place. It is situated on the ICW. There are benches and swings for your to enjoy. We like to take our own chairs and sit in the grassy area down on the water. Very nice in the evening.

Several people have asked us about the feasibility of walking to the beach strand from our place. While it is possible, we cannot recommend it, especially during the summer season when the traffic is heaviest. The beach strand is about a 25 minute walk from our place. In addition, in order to walk it you must cross the bridge that crosses the Intracoastal Waterway. While there is a bike path on the bridge that you could walk in, we could not in good conscience recommend that you do so.

Unless otherwise noted, parallel parking is allowed as long it does not impede bike lanes. There is a free municipal parking lot as you come off the bridge that has a large public beach access. (There are restrooms and shower stations at this access.) This lot tends to fill up very quickly . There is a paid parking lot adjacent to this lot, but it is restricted to season pass holders. You will have use of the Sea Trail gated parking lot which is located on 1st Street. It is private and usually has spots. This is lot is about 250 yds from the main public beach access.
