Water shoes are very useful for local swimming holes.
The river base and waterfalls can be rocky. Water shoes or old sneakers will make swimming and exploring the creeks much more enjoyable!

Flashlighs!
I recommend leaving a flashlight in the car so if you get back to the cabin after dark you'll be able to make it down the path. There are no street lights in the area and it gets dark!

Hiking behind the cabin
Take a short hike to the Dingmans Creek and, if your up for it, follow the creek upstream to George W Childs Park/ Deer Leap Falls.
