To get to downtown Seattle, I take 509 North most of the way instead of getting on I-5 from Burien. Take 509 all the way to the 1st Ave Bridge. If GOING TO THE NORTH END of Seattle get in the 2nd lane from the right on the bridge and turn onto 1st Ave. Go all the way down 1st Ave then turn right onto S. Michigan Street. In a couple of blocks you can turn left to catch I-5 North. You will have missed all the worse traffic on I-5. To go to the CENTER of Seattle, just stay on 509 as it turns into 99... but be sure to get into the rt lane to exit before going thru the tunnel.
