Leesville Lake Marina is about 20 miles by car but only 6 miles by boat.
They have some boat rentals, boat fuel, a pool and a short order restaurant with a variety of homemade ice cream :-')

The project is unique because power is generated by Smith Mountain Dam during high demand periods and water is pumped back from Leesville Lake back UP into Smith Mountain Lake during low demand periods.
