Fresh water springs for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding

Blue springs is a local favorite! It reaches capacity early in the morning on weekends and summer days, so call before you go!
It is great for families with children, as it has a gradual beach-like entrance into the water that is perfect for young kids to play on the shore!
It is beautiful to swim in or put your kayak, paddleboard, or canoe in the water and paddle out to the Santa Fe River, where you can explore other springs nearby such as Poe Springs.
Distance from the tiny houses: approx 15-30 mins

One of our favorite things to do in nature is to float down the Ichetucknee River. Bring an inner tube and enjoy a relaxing float down a natural lazy river! Or bring a set of snorkel gear and swim down for a more invigorating experience.
We recommend parking at the South Entrance, pumping up your inner tubes (we offer a tube and snorkel rental if you need, or you can rent tubes from the river at this entrance). Then you have the choice of either walking the trail down to the river or taking the tram if it is running ($6/per person). The float down the river is around 45 minutes - 60 minutes. When you arrive at the bottom, you can either take the tram back to the parking lot or walk the trail which takes about 20 minutes.
