A great locally owned tavern overlooking Old Fort Bayou. The Julep Room features Coast musicians. Our guests a Vintage Mississippi have played there as well. The Julep Room is the lower level of Aunt Jenny's world famous catfish house.

Most towns are lucky to have one good dive bar. Ocean Springs has a quite a few! Gil's is one of my favorites and is well known locally for crawfish. It's a bar where the locals like to go and it's easy walking distance from Vintage Mississippi.

And that is for starters. Chef Matt puts the wow in the menu. Martin is the brew master and really knows his craft.

Sightseeing
See both the museum and tour the rocket engine test facility! Easy to get to. It's right off I-10. The visitor's center has a lot of interactive displays. I'm fascinated by the space program and really enjoyed the tour of the rocket test facility too.
The John C. Stennis Space Center is a NASA rocket testing facility. It is located in Hancock County, Mississippi, on the banks of the Pearl River at the Mississippi–Louisiana border. As of 2012, it is NASA's largest rocket engine test facility.

The is a great town for getting around!
Everything is close by. Perfect for walking an biking. Uber and Lyft are also an option. And if you just want to drive, navigation along the coast is easy—you're never very far from Hwy 90.

The Walter Anderson Museum of Art
Walter Anderson is probably Ocean Springs' most famous son. The Walter Anderson Museum is right in the downtown area and does a wonderful job of presenting Anderson's life and works.

Ocean Springs has beautiful beaches
Ocean Springs has one of the loveliest beaches along this part of the coast. Usually there is plenty of parking, though we often go there on foot or by bicycle. And unlike some of the beaches around the Biloxi casinos, the O.S. beaches are family friendly!

Gulf Islands National Seashore
In Ocean Springs the Gulf Islands National Seashore has an interpretive center, park with picnic areas, fishing and boat launch, and walking trails. It's a little far to get to on foot, but you can ride a bike there in 20 minutes. There is also a park entrance right off Hwy 90.
