Cotuit Beaches

Each of the 4 beaches is different; don't forget to bring the beach pass!
This is a favorite beach in Cotuit for swimming, within walking distance. There are seasonal lifeguards and restrooms. You can walk along the shore (to the right) down to Oregon Beach, which is a beautiful beach for pictures and on a clear day at low tide, you may spot Martha's Vineyard! We marvel that there are many times in the summer, early morning and evenings, etc., that we are the only ones on the beach. FYI: arrive early on busy days, as parking is limited. Beach pass is required.

This beach is the closest to the cottage, just blocks away on Old Shore Road. This is a great spot for pictures. There are no lifeguard or restrooms. This seems to be a nice beach for parents with younger children, who play in the calm shallow water since there are weeds farther out. Boats and paddle boarders launch from this area and it is home to the Mosquito Yacht Club, which hosts local yacht races and sailing lessons. You can walk along the narrow shoreline to the point to the left of the beach (low tide is best) or along the narrow path to the right of the boat launch all the way to Town Dock. To walk to Ropes, take a left on Lewis Pond Rd, straight to the T on Main St, then right on Main St. , and left on Old Shore Rd. To drive there, take a left on Main St, a quick right on Putnam, and another quick right on Old Shore Road. Don't forget the Beach Pass!

A small beach with very limited parking; no restrooms or lifeguard. A great place to launch a kayak to Sampson's Island, swim without a crowd, or bask in the sunshine.
