Ena(Ooi Juku) area, 47th post town.

Our town, Ena is also a part of Naksendo road. Compare to Magome and Tsumago, the town is modernized. However it is good to see the comparison of modernized town and preserved town.
浮世絵が展示されている美術館 Ukiyo-e printing museum is 3 minutes walking distance from Ena Station. If you are interested in walking Nakasendo road between Magome & Tsumago, you might want to visit this ukiyo-e, wooden block prints in Edo period. On the second floor, you can make your own ukiyo-e prints of Ena (or Oi-juku in the old name) for free. Up to High school, 18 years old is Free admission.

If you are interested in walking Nakasendo road between Magome & Tsumago, you might want to visit this ukiyo-e, wooden block prints in Edo period. On the second floor, you can make your own ukiyo-e prints of Ena (or Oi-juku in the old name) for free. Up to High school, 18 years old is Free admission.

In Iwamura mountain Castle town, on the way to go to the castle ruin, traditional Portuguese paundcake which they have been making for more than 230 year same recipe will be there. This was introduced by a local doctor who went to Nagasaki for studying Rangaku, Dutch style medical method. This more than two hundred years traditional Portuguese styled paundcake is called Kasteela. It is very famous this area.
