Sightseeing

The Grotto is an amazing place to visit while on vacation on the Bruce Peninsula. We recommend visiting in the off season or during the week as it is a very popular spot. During July and August you can only get a pass to visit the park for 4 hours. It's an easy 20 minute hike to the grotto and a great place for a refreshing dip in the crystal clear waters of Georgian Bay.

Best Beaches

If you're looking for swimming in warmer water, check out Sandy Beach at Black Creek Provincial Park. Only a 10 minute drive from the beach house, this beach is awesome. Lot's fun in the sun for kids. Even a floating dock older kids can swim out to and jump off. We always have a great time at this beach.

About 30 minutes from Lion's Head, Sauble beach is totally worth the drive. We love parking and setting up our spot on the bach at 6th street north. There is easy access to washrooms, food trucks and a little playground for the kids. You can drop all your beach stuff off at the drop off spots, then find a parking spot along the beach. You do have to pay for parking ($15 I believe) but it is well worth the fun you will have at this great beach. Be sure to bring your own shade as the sun is hot especially for the littles. Once you're done in the sun, treat yourself to Ice Cream at Scoopers down by main street. I believe it is cash only... worth it tho. They even put sprinkles on the cones for kids! Mars Cosmic Fries are the best for a more savoury treat... just watch out for all the Sea Gulls!
