This is such a picturesque village about 11 minutes drive from our farm house. Worth giving a mention to one of favourite restaurants in Verteuil called La Portebleue with the really friendly Chef and his staff. There is an amazing choice of menus and drinks. Beautiful large wood burner on those rare chilly evenings.
The area has some lovely walks and breath taking scenery and if you book ahead plan a guided tour of the stunning Château.

Verteuil-sur-Charente
This is such a picturesque village about 11 minutes drive from our farm house. Worth giving a mention to one of favourite restaurants in Verteuil called La Portebleue with the really friendly Chef and his staff. There is an amazing choice of menus and drinks. Beautiful large wood burner on those rare chilly evenings.

Charentales is a micro brewery next door to our property. They run events such as brew tours, sell their beers organise vintage car events, artisanal markets and this encourages the local community to support them. They regularly hold ‘bikers breakfasts’ and they also have the facility to hold conferences in their property. The micro brewery/brassiere also sell their beers, glasses and other stock (handy for souvenirs).

Montjean hold fabulous markets and within a 10 minute drive from our farmhouse. Also nearby in Londigny is situated the lovely and popular Auberge du Noyer. A family friendly restaurant. They organise quizzes, musical events and themed evenings. Their menu is eclectic with their steak and ale pie a huge favourite.

Forty minutes away from our farmhouse this fabulous city is a particular favourite area of ours. Like Manchester on speed! The ‘old town’ is unbelievable with great shops such as H and M, Casa and many more the Christmas vibe is amazing. Wok 86 is a must if you enjoy Chinese cuisine.
