Soufrière is a town on the West Coast of Saint Lucia, in the eastern Caribbean Sea. If one town were to be the heart and soul of St Lucia, it would have to be Soufrière. The surrounding landscape is little short of breathtaking: the skyscraping towers of rock known as the Pitons stand guard over the town. Jutting from the sea, covered in vegetation and ending in a summit that looks otherworldly, these are St Lucia's iconic landmarks.
The area boasts beauty above and below the water as well as historic and natural sights aplenty.
Many visit only as a day trip from the north – don't join them! There are far too many attractions to pack into a couple of hours. Spend a couple of nights down here soaking up the ambiance accompanied by the hum of the rain-forest.
