A recent guest asked me where they could get breakfast with an ocean view. This is one place I found kind of nearby, (about a 10-minute drive), where that can happen any day of the week. Yelp only gives Marisol 3.5 out of 5 stars, but it's worth a try. I've heard many good things about Marisol's happy hour over the years. Nobody has mentioned their breakfasts. It's pricey. $7 for orange juice.

Parks & Nature
This is a shared paved walking and bicycling trail. Walking on this trail is one of my favorite things. It's a 3-mile trail starting just off the 101, and it ends at Avila Beach, another seaside community that is fun to visit. The beach at Avila is one of the warmest in the area. Leashed dogs are welcome on the trail and in downtown Avila, but only on the beach before 10am and after 5pm.

Great pieces of local and railroad history. Usually open on Sunday Afternoons. They have very interesting "Dunite Days" sometime in June, to learn about the Dunite utopian community that was formed at the beach in the early 1900's.
