Almora is at an altitude of 1861 m above sea level. The summers are pleasant, and may get a bit hot, but nothing compared to the heat of the plains! The winters do get cold, near freezing point, and it snows for one or two days in a year. Pack warm clothes appropriately, carry sunglasses and sunscreen, hats or caps, and shorts or trousers depending on the time of the year. Umbrellas or raincoats can be handy during the beautiful monsoons!
