Beautiful hike just over the Kaimai's. Allow 30 min drive each way. Allow half a day for this. Absolutely beautiful! Recommend a moderate fitness level for this.

Poplar LaneIf you like nature and views I recommend walking yourself up Papamoa Hills. You can see most of the Bay of Plenty and also look over to the Mount. Allow 45-60 mins for up and down (dependent on your fitness level and walking pace).
Take a refreshing dip here. Can get quite busy so would recommend heading up earlier in the day. Nice place to take a picnic. Heads to Mclarens falls park afterwards for a drive through nature and feed the ducks. Nice place for a BBQ too.

A couple parks in Tauranga town at Memorial Park. On Sunday's there is a train running. Off memory it is $1-$2 each and so much fun.

A nice big quarry with lots to see and do. Has many ornaments and a space of musical instruments. Beautiful gardens. Would allow 20-25 mins to get here. Wear good shoes.
