Low Sierra is located a mile down the hill from us. Not only do they do amazing tattoos, they also have a huge gift shop inside full of jewelry, artwork by local artists (myself included) clothes, oddities, and other unique gifts! Be sure to stop in and check them out, it's a hidden gem!

Sightseeing
You simply cannot visit our area without making the beautiful drive up into the mountains and walking around (and inside) of our giant Sequoia trees! These are some of the largest living things on Earth, some are thousands of years old! The drive both ways is just simply incredible too. Be sure to get gas in Kernville before heading up and bring $12 cash for parking. Also note that there is no cell reception past River Kern.

Trail of 100 Giants Trailhead
County Route 107You simply cannot visit our area without making the beautiful drive up into the mountains and walking around (and inside) of our giant Sequoia trees! These are some of the largest living things on Earth, some are thousands of years old! The drive both ways is just simply incredible too. Be sure to get gas in Kernville before heading up and bring $12 cash for parking. Also note that there is no cell reception past River Kern.
These are about 25 minutes from our house and sit right along the Kern River. There are only 3 tubs so we recommend going early and on a weekday if possible.

This is a great trail near our house that gives you an excellent view of the lake when you reach the top!

This is the best park in the valley to take the kids to! Lots of grass and shade, picnic tables, a playground, brand new exercise equipment, basketball/tennis court, restrooms and even a little beach area the kids can splash around in (always wear a life jacket!). El Rio's
Mexican restaurant is right across the street and they have a takeout window where you can order food, drinks and ice cream and take it to the park to eat.

Riverside Park

Red Rock Canyon State Park is located about an hour and a half from the house but it doesn't even seem that far because the whole drive there is spectacular! Many movies and t.v shows were filmed here because of it's unique beauty! If you're looking for a desert adventure, here it is. Located right off highway 14, there is an awesome 1 mile loop trail in the front where you can touch and climb on the bluffs and a visitor center, restrooms and picnic area on the back end, also longer trails that are just as scenic! Please note, it is usually pretty windy up there!
