The surrender grounds here in Appomattox is a must see for all. Whether you love history or not, the park staff and reenactors located around the grounds help history come to life. Walk thru the small town and tour the buildings. There are also trails surrounding the town that are maintained and lead to placards, and monuments, detailing events that took place years ago on these very grounds
