Sightseeing
Glasgow is unique, a city that is full of contrasts . Glasgow was the first city I visited as a little girl. It was a scary place with old dingy buildings and lots of industrial grime. Nowadays , there is nothing scary about it. It is not a bit like the "Taggart programmes apart from the accents.
Stirling is a thriving small Scottish city. There is an excellent mix of medieval buildings and closes around the castle area with lots of interesting sights for both children and adults. The views from the castle ramparts on a clear day are inspiring.
Stirling has a vibrant student population which is reflected in the numerous bars, restaurants and cafes around the centre.

This is a little town on the main road (A85 ) to Crainlarich and further North. There are rows of little houses along the main street dotted with old grand hotels where the shooting parties from the estates would warm themselves beside the open log fires. The town is also known as the "Shaky Toun " as it sits on the "West Highland fault line with little earth tremors an occasional feature.

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and it is truly a grand "wee city". As a Scot, Edinburgh has always had a special place in my heart. I studied there over 40 years ago. and since then , a lot has changed , with new restaurants, cafes, shopping centres and markets and lots of visitors all year round . Our capital city has an international feel about it and this is highlighted during the Summer months with the international festivals.

There are regular service buses to Perrth, Dunblane and Stirling. Parking in Perth in the summer months is difficult and is also expensive near the city centre. Services are limited after 6PM so important to check before travelling. There is a limited service on a Sunday .
Trains Perth, Dunblane and Stirling are all on the mainline routes to Aberdeen Glasgow and Edinburgh.
