There is a hostel close by, and it takes about an hour to get to fortress by the archipelago boat from Vaxholm. Unfortunately the connections aren't very frequent, but if planned right, a stunning trip nonetheless.

Unfortunately the connections aren't very frequent, but if planned right, a stunning trip nonetheless.

Nearest jetty on this island for the archipelago boats. It is a 25 minutes walk from the house. You probably only use this when you arrive first day and when you want to go to Stockholm. For Vaxholm it is quicker to take the bus from Rörängsvägen, or go by bike and walk to the ferry dock.

This is the nearest bus stop, 12 minutes walk from the house. Bus leaves every 30-60 minute. Ask us about the timetable. If you are just going to Vaxholm, you most likely don't need to pay because the only place to buy a ticket is in Vaxholm.

My personal favorite is a lunch inside Värdshuset restaurant. Also a sandy beach on the opposite side of the island. Only accesible with the faster Cinderella boats, around 1.5 hours.

Closes 18.00 Monday-Wednesday, 19.00 on Thursday-Friday, 15.00 on Saturday and its closed on Sundays. I usually stock beer and wine at home for guests, let me know if you'd like to buy.
