Food scene
Not as good as the real thing but its a nice place to grab a few cold ones, while the kids play.
A lovely little local pub just around the corner from us. Great atmosphere, massive portions and the beers are cold!

2 Boschkop RdAn off road park run every saturday at 8 followed by a huge arrange of food and drinks at the Market. On the last saturday of every month they have a free "sweety hunt" for the kids so grab your head torches and come for some fun.
P.s also great for mountain biking and they hire bikes there so you don't even need to bring your own.

The closer cow house market is more convenient but this market is certainly worth the drive.

The Rietvlei Nature Reserve is located in Pretoria and is about 4,000 hectares in size, definitely worth a visit. At only R59 pp its definitely worth the drive.

I have a confession, I unfairly judged the Afrikaans until I visited this historical site, its not only a beautiful venue with breathtaking views but it sheds incredible light on the plight of the boer and is well worth every South African and Tourist visiting.

A good hours drive to get there and I would aim to be there by 8.30 to get into the cues, but Gold Reef City is worth every cent.

If you're coming from O.R Tambo and you don't have a car. Catch the Gautrain to the Hatfield station and then its R150 to catch an Uber to The Blyde.

The Blyde wont allow anyone to swim naked or in clothes, regardless if its a child. Please pack a proper bathing suit in order to enjoy the beach and the crystal lagoon.

We are on the edge of Mamelodi township and although it is perfectly safe at The Blyde we wouldn't recommend venturing into Mamelodi on your own, especially not at night.
