Summary: Uptown is a great central area for people to meet. It boasts great restaurants, nightlife, museums and entertainment (football, basketball and baseball as well as theatre) for people of all ages. Everything you could want to visit Uptown is within a 5-20 minute walk from your condo! My Favorite Places (Bars/Restaurants): *Best Coffee (Queen City Grounds)- one block from your condo! * Poplar- a really great non-pricey Tapas restaurant one block from your condo! *Merchant and Trade Rooftop Bar- amazing views and drinks (my favorite) *Neflies (located in Latta Arcade)- hidden gem with amazing/inexpensive Greek food. *7th Street Public Market- very cool market area downtown with several good/quick eateries and local goods/crafts/market place items *Capital Grille-yes, it's a chain, but this is a local staple with great food and atmosphere *RiRas- also a local stape, good Irish food and drink *Ink & Ivy- a great outdoor/indoor bar/restaurant, perfect for watching sporting games *Queen City Q- great bbq and atmosphere *Nuvole Rooftop- another great rooftop bar with great views *The Cellar at Duckworths- great low-key basement bar *Ritz Carlton- good live music and casual/classy scene *Latta Arcade area (French Quarter, Houlihans, Belfast Mill, etc.) really great local bars with good affordable food and drinks *Fin & Fino- great seafood restaurant with nice décor *Eddie V's- yes, it's a chain, but this one is good! *Sea Level- really good, southern-style (Charleston-inspired) seafood *Crave Desert Bar- just like the name says, delicious! *Bentleys on 27- great steak and relaxing atmosphere *Angelines- good Italian which is hard to find in Charlotte *Fahrenheit- food is okay and drinks a bit pricey, but great views of Uptown *Epicentre- this is a central place in Charlotte for food, drinks and entertainment. SouthEnd is the fastest growing area in Charlotte. It starts just south of Uptown as you cross over HWY 277 (Less than 1 mile from uptown) and goes south for several miles. It is the most popular area for young professionals (20-35) to live, work and play, and its my favorite neighborhood! The growth of SouthEnd really started with the growth in the brewery scene, and in fact, SouthEnd is home to countless great breweries. But, within the past few years, SouthEnd has also become one of the best places in Charlotte for foodies. Although it is a hub for millennials, because of the great craft breweries and food, SouthEnd is now a place that people of all ages enjoy. You can access SouthEnd by car or taking the LightRail which is only a few blocks from your condo, taking an uber/lyft or by scooter. My Recommended Places: *Barcelona Wine Bar- a must visit (great food, drinks and atmosphere) *Jeni's Ice Cream- maybe the most popular place in SouthEnd *Mac's Speed Shop- a local favorite, great southern food and biker hangout *Suffolk Punch (great atmosphere and bring the dog!) *Zeppelin *Superica (really good tex/mex fare) *Let's Meat & Seoul Food Meet Co. (Let's Meat is my favorite Korean bbq). Soeul Food is also a popular hangout *Sycamore Brewery (really great atmosphere and popular food truck Friday!) *Craft *Price's Chicken Coop (the best fried chicken in Charlotte!) *Queen Park Social (a great place to hang out, drink/eat and play games!) *The Waterman Fish Bar (good seafood and a great rooftop scene) *All American Pub/Slate/Oak Room/Hot Taco- 4 places connected together, a popular place to watch sports, play billiards, or enjoy food/drink *Tupelo Honey (a must visit, very unique food and drinks) *O-Ku (really good sushi) *Gin Mill (great rooftop bar) *Lost and Found (great late night place for drinks)

NoDa is unlike any other place in Charlotte. It is known for its very laid back, artsy/musical and some would say "hippie" atmosphere reminiscent of Ashville, NC for those who have visited. In Noda you will find great live music and food relatively cheap. The people there are very down to earth and you will have no problems meeting new friends! People that live and hang out in NoDa tend to be younger 20-35. Although certainly a different atmosphere than Uptown or SouthEnd, NoDa is definitely a place to visit for people of all ages. NoDa is just north of Uptown as you pass over 277 (less than 1 mile from Uptown). In fact, you can see it from your condo (to the right of the train train line). You can access SouthEnd by car or taking the LightRail which is only a few blocks from your condo, taking an uber/lyft or by scooter. My Favorite Places: *Optimist Hall-This place is new and its really cool. It is an old factory converted into retail with organic/local food and stores *Cabo Fish Taco- good/unique Mexican food *NoDa 101- a kareokee place where all are welcome *Neighborhood Theatre- great shows/up and coming talent *Haberdish

SouthPark is where refinement and luxury meet Southern charm. It is one of the nicest areas in Charlotte with fine dining, restaurants and stores for those wanting something a little more elegant. SouthPark mall is the nicest in the area and features all of the top high-end clothing/fashion, furniture and design stores. Phillips Place in SouthPark also has great restaurants and shops as well. For those wanting a day of rest, relaxation, and a little bit of shopping, SouthPark is a must visit location. SouthPark is located about 5 miles south of Uptown. The best way to get to SouthPark is by car or by taking a lyft/uber. My Favorite Places: *South park mall-the best mall in Charlotte *Phillips Place- great to walk around or eat (the Palm, PF Changs, Upstream are all good) *Cowfish Burger & Sushi Bar- great variety of food, get there early, always packed *Maggianos- i know, its a chain, but this one is good *Baku- good Japanese food *Café Monte- really great french food, drinks and atmosphere *Barringtons- pricey, have not been, but my friend says this is the best restaurant in Charlotte *Del Frisco- the best steak in SouthPark *Bulla Gastrobar- have not been but I've heard great things *Baoding- no frills place, but great/inexpensive Chinese food -Paco's Taco's and Tequila- great tex/mex

Ballantyne is a little further out from Uptown (about 12 miles), but it is a great area that caters towards a slightly older demographic (35-55) and families. In Ballantyne, you will find great restaurants, bars and shopping with locals who live and routinely frequent these establishments. The atmosphere is laid back is easy to make friends. I would recommend Ballantyne for those wanting a good time with a little less hussle and bussle than Uptown and SouthEnd. You can get to Ballantyne by car or by taking an uber/lyft. My Favorite Places: *Ballantyne Hotel and Country Club- a staple in Ballantyne that's been featured in several movies *Bad Daddy's Burger Bar- great burgers *Black Finn Ameripub- probably the most popular place for people to hang out, live music/sports watching *Another Broken Egg Café- best breakfast in Ballantyne *Firebirds Wood Fired Grill- great food and atmosphere *Gibson-great rooftop bar

Dilworth is a great neighborhood located just south/east of Uptown (1-2 miles from Uptown). It also has, in my opinion, the best park in Charlotte (Freedom Park) that is a great place to see if you have time! You can get to Dilworth by car or taking an uber/lyft. The Music Factory is a great place to let loose and have fun! It has various indoor (Filmore) and outdoor (The Ampitheatre) concert venues and brings in all different types of acts. It is home of the Charlotte Comedy Zone (comedy club). Music Factory has grown over the years and with that growth has added great restaurants and bars as well. This area mainly caters to the younger crowd (18-30), but, due to the growth is enjoyed by people of all ages. I would recommend Music Factory for those looking for a laugh (the Comedy Zone is one of my favorite places to go) or to have some dinner/drinks before heading to another neighborhood. The Music Factory is located north/west of Uptown as you cross over 277. You can drive (pay parking), walk from your condo (it takes me 15 minutes), uber/lyft or take a scooter (also how I get there). My Favorite Places: *Comedy Zone! *The Filmore *Sand Volleyball courts! *The Ampitheatre *VBGB Beer Hall and Garden/Restaurant

This is the biggest amusement park in the Carolinas and boasts some of the fastest/tallest roller coasters in the country. Food scene

A must visit if you have time! Optimist Hall, opened in 2019, is an old textile mill turned into a food hall featuring great organic food and drink stands, retail and shopping with a unique urban feel. It's a great concept put to action and a very cool place to hang out and grab a bite. Even better, it is less than a mile away, located just north of Uptown (as you cross over 277) close to NoDa. In fact, you can see the area (Optimist Hall and Optimist Park) from your condo, look to the right and you’ll see a small brown brick tower, that’s it! You can get to Optimist Park by walking (15 min.), scooter, car, uber/lyft, or taking the LightRail which is just blocks from your condo.
