Taco places / Mexican food

Thanks for looking at my Tacos Guidebook. I would like to take this time to share some recommended places, most of them at walking distance. This are places I used to go when living in México City, yes, in that same apartment that you’re in. Hope you do visit them and enjoy them as much as I did.
So, this, of course is number one in the list, I currently live in Bogotá, Colombia, and tacos is what I miss the most. Califa’s, the best tasting and also the most expensive. It’s open from 1:00pm like till 4:00am. Service is usually good and fast, a great variety of tacos, nice chill out music and their salsas are the best, specially their "salsa especial" made with habanero.

A very personal favorite, a hidden gem if you like fried tacos. Actually, there is no such thing as fried tacos in México, no Taco Bell like tacos. There are “flautas” a rolled tortilla with meat, chicken and other stuffing. Ask for “agua de Jamaica” and don’t forget to tell the to put on both types of salsa to your Flautas.

This is more into the “streets” taco, a taco joint, also a good option for Mexican Tacos, the specialty here is “Tacos de Trompo” or “Tacos al Pastor”. Tacos al pastor are made from pork and based on shawarma spit-grilled meat brought by Lebanese immigrants to Mexico. El Farolito also has a good variety of juices.

Traditional Mexican food, breakfast is the specialty. A bit pricey, but really worth it. Remember to order hot chocolate and "conchas", delicious! Opens at 9am, on weekends get there early, it's typically full on weekend mornings.

Simply convenient

Don’t know exactly what you want, or everyone in your party wants different things, this is where Toks, Vips and Sanborn’s come in handy. A wide variety of options in the menu, from burgers to tacos, and medium priced, great for family. These restaurant chains have been like, forever in México, common meeting place for many locals.

Lots of options at 500m from my apartment, from fancy to fast and convenient, these are some of the places you'll find really close.
Authentic Spanish cuisine. At walking distance, incredible attention to detail, fresh ingredients. Fabada is tasty, the "jamón" is the real deal.
