CALENDAS
Las calendas son caminatas que se realizan por grupos de personas que festejan un acontecimiento en particular, y que realizan recorridos por la ciudad con música, comida, bebidas y en la mayoría de las ocasiones porta. Trajes típicos de la zona. Ocurren de manera aleatoria durante el día y noche principalmente en el centro de la ciudad. Los espectadores son también invitados a participar.

Guelaguetza (Ultima semana de Julio;
En esta temporada se celebra la Guelaguetza con una serie de desfiles y acontecimientos que celebran la unión de los pueblos de valles de Oaxaca, quienes presentan por medio de bailes, comida y relatos la tradición de su región. Durante la semana ocurren distintas presentaciones algunas con acceso gratuito.

TEMPORADA DE MUERTOS (noviembre)
Durante la temporada de muertos en el mes de noviembre, ocurren distintos espectáculos al aire libre o dentro de los lugares más emblemáticos tanto de la ciudad como de los valles centrales. Las familias se reúnen en Panteones para conmemorar a sus familiares, existen desfiles con disfraces, presentaciones y relatos de leyendas en los andadores del centro, así como grandes fiestas en las afueras de la ciudad. Algunos de estos eventos son gratuitos.
