The Christmas markets in Vienna truly are an age-old tradition. The forerunners of the present-day events date back to the Middle Ages when in 1298 Albrecht I granted Vienna's citizens the privilege of holding a December Market or "Krippenmarkt". Since then, the character and prevalence of these markets has changed considerably. Nowadays, over 20 official Advent Markets sell a vast array of seasonal gifts and mouth-watering treats.

Viennese Dream Christmas Market
The Viennese Dream Christmas Market in front of the City Hall is an unforgettable highlight for those eager to get into the spirit of the season. The unique backdrop gives this market a charm of its own, and the delicious aromas are sure to lull all visitors into the seasonal joy. Inside the City Hall on the ground floor there is an area dedicated to children, where they can learn how to make Christmas cookies or candles. You can also listen to international choirs singing carols with free entrance on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Approximately 60 exhibitors present handicrafts and original gifts such as hand-made Christmas decorations and nativity sets for visitors to admire and purchase right in front of the famous Schönbrunn Palace. The fragrance of freshly baked Vanillekipferl and hot punch fills the air and creates a wonderful atmosphere.

It will be a nice harmonious coexistence around people who have are vegans and people who have not yet lived and eaten vegan and or are still not really familiar with the subject, in an unbiased way, to present alternatives.
Of course we also offer wheat and gluten-free delicacies!
Our exhibitors can certainly surprise you with one or the other culinary & special handmade feature.

Hammer bangs by a minter, fusing bees wax for candles production, smell of honey and spruce branches in the air - these are medieval Christmas markets that welcome you to enjoy the unique magic of Christmas in the oldest market place in Trnava.
One weekend before Christmas, the period craftsmen pitch a camp in the oldest square in Trnava - St. Nicolas Square and create a medieval atmosphere. They offer their handmade products, untraditional culinary specialities or a hot period Christmas punch.
Accept our invitation to spend a nice time in Christmas atmosphere far away from frantic shopping and Christmas preparations. Drop by for a glass of hot Christmas punch served in traditional period jugs, taste poppy and nut English muffins with a fair portion of butter. Get to know the medieval crafts: handmade candles, coin mintage, arch production or smiths' skills.
A Christmas crib is not missing. But with live figures and animals. If you drop by they sing you a Christmas carol - Silent night. For the smallest ones there is a medieval carousel prepared driven by human power. If you are patient and wait till sun set, you will be pleased by the special, and even fabulous Christmas atmosphere created thanks to the cresset called Genius Loci.
