Great for family meals, plenty of space and the best children's playground in Albany. Beer on tap, good coffee and an interesting menu. They have a Kiosk for a cheaper meal and ice creams. It is right on the beach.

Good value Cafe with an excellent chef in the kitchen. Food is freshly prepared, meals, snacks and coffee. This is one of our favourites, not too pricey (for Albany) just as good as the overcrowded places in York Street. It has a pleasant outside area and friendly staff.

Lovely Cafe near us on Chester Pass Road, the focus is on the strawberries growing in their own fields. Not cheap! but very, very good food and pleasant surroundings. Ice cream to die for, excellent playground for the children and good coffee.

Beer on tap, local wines and plenty of space. Nice food but nothing special and a bit pricey. It overlooks the King George Sound, next to the Entertainment Centre. Not very child friendly and there is no outside area or playground, more for adults I would say.

one of our favourites, they do a cracking breakfast but it gets very crowded in the summer. The Cafe is very close to the beach (safe swimming) but the playground is pretty ordinary and not very close. The food is very nice, average price, but always freshly prepared and delicious. Not particularly good for children , but a good place to read the paper and relax.

Lovely food, pleasant and helpful staff but usually very busy. They do takeaways of course, but if you want to dine in I would book first or you are likely to be turned away.

Friendly Cafe, good for coffee and snacks, reasonably priced and great for a chill out. Probably not a good choice if you have small children though, but if you want to relax in a comfortable chair and have a freshly prepared roll or wrap, this is for you.

Good for a sit down meal. Reasonable prices, nice food, if a bit unimaginative and probably not a good choice for younger children. But a convenient spot if you are in the CBD.

Convenient if you are visiting the ANZAC museum (thoroughly recemmended). We found Garrisons to be overpriced with poor service, and definitely not child friendly. Maybe the best plan is to have coffee outside and enjoy the brilliant views over King George Sound, it is worth the price of a cup of coffee to sit there and gaze out over the water.

Our favourite for a quick fish supper.Half the price of any of the others, big portions and good service. Don't waste your money on the 'award winning' place on Middleton Road, the food is almost identical at literally half the cost. We did the rounds when we first arrived in Albany, and this is as good as it gets without the Albany price tag. PHONE FIRST, you could be in for a long wait if you just walk on.

Our local! Stop for coffee, breakfast or lunch at this place when you do your shopping. it doesn't look much as you go past, but there is someone who knows what they're doing in the kitchen and the food is surprisingly good and prices are reasonable. A great place for breakfast or lunch, with or without the kids as there is plenty of room in the Mall area, which is hardly ever crowded and quite safe. The bakery next door is very good too, we like their Apple Twister and sausage rolls

Lovely food, nothing fancy but beautiful and very fresh fish. Cheynes Beach is a bit of a drive; you are on the right side of town here, take the right fork at Bakers Junction. You can sit and eat outside and watch for whales off this bit of coast. Lovely beaches and walks, mostly nature has been left to take its course so there is no big playground or children's park, but loads of space, beautiful beach and nothing much to do except walk and take in the natural beauty of this area.Food is prepared to order in a van outside, it is very clean and well organised. The shop close by has drinks and there is always some cake for dessert with a cup of tea or coffee. It is one of our favourite things to do when we feel the need to get out of here!
