This is right next door to the Blue Wave Beach Cottage! Simply Delicious is a charming restaurant with tasty food. It's popular with locals and tourists so there can be a wait to get in, but you can always order to go and walk back next door with your goods! The homemade pies are fantastic. And the cookies and muffins! Grab some to go!

The food here is great. I've not had a meal here that I've not thoroughly enjoyed. Their menu includes a very nice selection of vegan foods. They have a very large beer selection, along with wine and mixed drinks. Though there is a bar, the outdoor patio in back is good for families, too. There are games to play out back while you wait for your food. It does get crowded on the weekends! 4th Street Fillin Station is only a few blocks from the Cottage.

Great organic coffee and tasty deserts! And you can sip and watch surf movies at the same time. Super neat place with lots of interesting seating areas. They also serve healthy snacks! Less than a block from the Cottage on the other side of the street.

The seafood at Seafood Atlantic is literally fresh off the boat. Seafood Atlantic is at Port Canaveral, and one of my favorite things to do is to sit on their outdoor patio and watch workers unload fishing boats directly into this restaurant and seafood market. In fact, you can drive to Seafood Atlantic (15-20 minutes, depending), pick out the fish or shellfish you want at the market, take it back to the Cottage, cook it, and have an amazing and super fresh meal on the deck outside!

Seafood Atlantic is at Port Canaveral, and one of my favorite things to do is to sit on their outdoor patio and watch workers unload fishing boats directly into this restaurant and seafood market. (she’s not a Pat) It’s in Indian Harbor Beach and about a 25 minute drive away, but if you’re in the market for some Florida style clothing or home goods, you can stop at Bealls, which is just across the street, then stop by Pat’s Place for a tasty meal after all that shopping! They’re open Monday through Friday, 11:00 to 7:30, and closed Saturday and Sunday. 279 E Eau Gallie Blvd, Melbourne (beach side)

Another thing that draws me here is the live blues music which is usually great. Has a couple of pool tables. Right on Minuteman Causeway, 1-1/2 blocks from the Cottage.

Core Surf has an amazing collection of new and vintage (and historic) surf boards. Dennis, the owner, is passionate about surfing, surfing's history and lifestyle. I don't surf myself, but I love going in to look at the surf boards and talk with Dennis about surfing. Core Surf also does rentals and can set you up with lessons.

Things To Do
Need a break from Sun & Fun? The Brevard Zoo is a great place to visit for kids and adults. The Zoo is well maintained, and the animals are well cared for. Their mission is "Wildlife conservation through education and participation" Besides a wonderful array of animals and reptiles, they have a zip line though forest and exhibits, and kayak tours. Check it out - brevardzoo.org

Many of the buildings date from the 1800's and early 1900's. Cocoa Village is walkable and charming, and there are all kinds of shops, galleries and restaurants. If you like hardware stores, check out Travis Hardware, founded in 1892. It's amazing. They have an incredible inventory. Some of it from 1892.
