One of the few white sand beaches on the eastern side of the island. Home to a few great swimming holes, safe for lounging and even snorkeling! (Make a left when you park and follow the coast during low tide to find awesome swimming holes)

A VAST and LUSH manicured garden with just about everything you can imagine. This place has it all! Monolithic and ancient plant life consume the land. Views of Onomea Bay are just breathtaking! The hiking trails are very easy as they are paved walkways, and they do charge an admission fee I believe. Make sure to bring a lunch as they have great scenic areas to enjoy the scenery while you relax.

If you are looking for a night out, or some amazing Thai cuisine, this restaurant and bar is only a short drive away during your stay. If I had to recommend three things, they would be the Thai Thai Curry, Summer Rolls, and Avocado fries. I might just go get some now :)

Go as early as possible! So many varieties of rare and local foods. Great prices and always fresh. Some fruits I would recommend are the soursop aka guanoabana, cacao fruit, ice cream bean, black sapote, mangosteen, jackfruit, egg fruit.

Adrenaline Rush!

Hands down the most fun spot to swim and jump off a cliff if you are into that sort of thing :P South point is a mixture of tourists daring to make the leap of faith into the southern most point of the Big Island, or locals doing some big game fishing! Great vibes and great weather, super windy! Nearby is also the Green Sands beach which I also have mentioned.

Green Sand Beaches

Be prepared to hike! This is a good hour or so of trekking, and no shade, so bring appropriate footwear and plenty of water! You also have a choice to drive in if you have a 4x4 off-road vehicle, or you have the choice to pay the local shuttle ($10/each way and well worth it) A must during your stay on the Big Island!
